The Powerful Guru Pooja Lyrics In Sanskrit And English
Sadhguru explains the significance of Guru Pooja. It is a kind of device. He says that if you know how to carry it on, you can invite certain possibilities.
The Isha Guru Pooja is a significant part of the yogic culture and tradition the Isha Foundation observes, led by the spiritual teacher Sadhguru. This ritual is a reverence and honor shown towards the lineage of spiritual masters or gurus, who have been instrumental in preserving and transferring the profound knowledge of yoga and spirituality through generations.
The term ‘Pooja’ in the Indian tradition means reverence or worship, involving rituals to honor and celebrate the divine. The Guru Pooja is dedicated to the guru or spiritual master. In this context, a guru is not seen merely as a person but as a guiding light or a doorway to experiencing life’s deeper dimensions.
The Isha Guru Pooja is a chant in Sanskrit. It includes invocating various esteemed masters from ancient times to the present day, including Narayana, Vasishta, Shakti, Parashara, Vyasa, Shuka, Gaudapada, Govinda, and Shankaracharya. This Pooja aims to create an atmosphere of sacredness and sets the right ambiance for spiritual processes.
The Pooja begins with a verse that aims to purify the individual performing the Pooja, followed by invoking the lineage of gurus. It continues with offerings (known as upacharas), including seat (asan), water (achamaniya), clothing (vastra), scented paste (chandana), flowers (Pushpa), incense (dhoop), light (deepa), food (naivedya), and the betel leaf (tambula).
Guru Pooja culminates in Arati (a ritual that involves circulating an Aarti plate or lamp around a person or deity), followed by Pushpanjali (floral offering).
While performing Guru Pooja, the focus is not on the external ritualistic details but on generating intense devotion towards the guru and the divine within oneself. It’s a powerful tool for inner transformation and a medium to receive the guru’s grace.
Guru Pooja is now available on the Sadhguru App in the Master’s voice!
